You know, just out of pure curiosity late last year, I did a search on some of my races I created over the times for my stories I've been fiddling with for years now, because I had started to rewrite some of the base plotline, and was simply curious how much of my charecters have been bleed onto the net.
One in particular, the Hevdra, seems to be fairly commonly ripped off. Now, I'm not to sure just yet if I should be appauled or flatterd about all this just yet.
One one hand, I'm sort of honored that this relitivly well thought out race is favored by a number of people that seem to enjoy the species, be it they know anything about what a Hevdra is or not. Even if they heartlessly claim the species to be thier own creation.
Having ones creation seep out to others to where they adopt the idea as something they enjoy is rather pleasing to me. Knowing something I created has reached out and touched a number of people to emulate my creation.
Now, this being said, I have no doubt there are other species created that are relitivly similar to the Hevdra, there are plenty of winged fuzzy critters about the net in abundance, But the name in particular is a key signature of the Hevdra. It is a name given to them by the ancients using the old toung of the dragons of Sagert.
Hev = Fox
Dra = Dragon
Dra or dran, pretains to a male dragon, case in point, Sevakor{dran}.
The Hevdra had been given this name by the ancients whom created them (the Kradi), instead of refering to them as 'Project 48' once they had been implimented in the care and mantince of the Core Data Archives, as well as becomming pets/companions for a time till the ancients died out.
Blah blah, yada yada. I digress.

On the other hand, I'm rather appauled by the number of rips and copies of Amber's gift art form years ago ( Refrence: http://www.mabsland.com/Art3b/Hevdra.jpg )

Who openly says its thier designe, no credit to me or Amber. Among a few others.

Of which I don't mind the ideology, that actualy flatters me that someone wants to be a Hevdra, and even has some additional art of Hevdras (be mindful of the content matter, contains vore) however I wish they would give credit where credit is due to whom actualy created the species.
Not to mention the numerous additions I'v found in photobucket accounts, where in you can 'buy' merchandise with the Hevdra gift art from Amber.
I'm still teetering on the fence here, what do you guys think?
